News Sources

Twitter

Twitter is a great app because it always brings up the important issues of the day and it gets the information faster than most media outlets. Twitter is a platform people can use to attract followers when expressing their thoughts and opinions. But people have to be good about knowing whether what comes out on Twitter is true or false. Despite that, it’s still a great app to use to keep up with historic events, such as a Presidential Election or celebrity deaths, and stay up to date on it.

Instagram

Instagram is another social media app I use for news updates, but I mostly use it for updates on celebrities, sports, movies, music, etc. I follow a couple of pages like WorldStar, famous people who I like, sports teams, etc. Instagram is a great app to randomly get informed about things that someone cares about. Instagram takes all the things that someone liked in the past and recommends posts of things it assumes they will like. Based on my experiences of using it, most of the time Instagram actually proves to be right.

          YouTube

YouTube is an app that I use for fun most of the time, but it’s also a place where I get information on certain topics that interest me. YouTubers that I’m subscribed to make videos on things they feel they need to address, whether that is to bring awareness to a Social movement (Ex: Black Lives Matter Movement) or Suicide Prevention Hotline (1-800-273-8255). YouTube keeps me entertained, while also making me aware of what goes on in the real world

        NBC News

NBC News is a source that I really like because of how engaging the news anchors are, and they really do their research on all of the topics they cover. I also like when they go on live television to tell viewers about a tragic event that happened, and they keep the viewers updated as everything unfolds. On the NBC News website, it brings about topics that are very popular, like Joe Biden’s Inauguration and Donald Trump’s Impeachment. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/biden-sign-executive-orders-covid-vaccinations-pandemic-response-2nd-day-n1255105

  ABC News

ABC News is another source that I really like because on their website they have a lot of variety. One example is it has a lot of options for entertainment news. Additionally, it is easy to navigate the website. When it comes to things to look at, whether it is for entertainment, politics, or viral videos, the website is visually appealing with a lot of pictures that make it feel comfortable to use the website. It also has very few ads. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/man-arrested-slayings-nyc-senior-housing-project-75409830?cid=clicksource_4380645_7_heads_hero_live_headlines_hed
